In general, the admissions office at Ecole Polytechnique takes care of all admissions related issues.


This is especially true if any kind of credit transfer is to take place to a foreign university, either for research internships or courses.


In any event, if you’re interested in studying with me, the appropriate procedure would be to contact me first, to ensure that there’s a match of interests, and then to contact the admissions office for formal procedures to commence. Yes, the admissions office are the good guys, they can even help with accommodation and such.

Notice that doctoral students are usually remunerated through a doctoral grant, whereas remuneration of undergraduate/masters students or Polytechnique interns is very exceptional.

Prospective PhD candidates should look at my research page and the page of my research team to familiarise themselves with my areas of interest.


PhD candidates MUST have an excellent academic background, i.e. a M.Sc or a DEA or equivalent with excellent grades, as well as be highly motivated. Additionally, PhD students are expected to participate in our research team activities as a colleague, which both means that teamwork is essential, and that the PhD student is expected to be able to work as a researcher with a large degree of autonomy.


An interview, preferably face-to-face but if it has to be, video- or phone conference may substitute, is imperative.
