Andreas came from Norway, interested in mobility and telecommunications and, of course, in doing research for his degree of “Sivilingeniør” - the highest attainable engineering degree in Norway (for the french: BAC+5 at a “grand ecole”). He is to be credited with making the first full implementation of OLSRv2 and, in the process, participating closely in the exchanges on formulating the final specification of OLSRv2.

Back in Norway, Andreas is working for a mobile telephone applications company.

Florent Bruneau

Florent Bruneau (X03) did his “stage d’option” (4 month research internship) with me. With a practical nag and an experimental mind, Florent threw himself at hacking Nokia N770 Internet Tablets, making the first from-scratch implementation of packetbb - a fundamental component in OLSRv2 - and converting OLSRv1 implementations to OLSRv2 implementations and subsequently testing them for interoperability and performance.

Subsequently, the telecom/networking bug had bit Florent, who did his 4th year at Telecom Paris

Frederic Galano (X02) did his “stage d’option” - research internship - with me. His interest was one of large-scale ad hoc networking, and he developed a powerful extension to allow OLSR to scale to very large networks.

His work resulted in a publication at the 2nd OLSR Interop/Workshop, held in the summer of 2005.

Julien Garnier

Julien Garnier (X02) did his “stage d’option” - research internship - with me. His interest was one of address autoconfiguration in ad hoc networking, and he proposed a mechanism allowing OLSR networks to autoconfigure.

His work resulted in a publication at the 2nd OLSR Interop/Workshop, held in the summer of 2005, as well as a publication (WPMC-05.pdf), jointly with E.Baccelli and myself, at IEEE conference Wireless Personal Multimedia Communications (WPMC05).

Subsequently, Julien went to Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan in Sweden to do his last year of studies, and then for a final internship at Hitachi SDL in Japan. His subject of study while in Sweden and Japan was security in ad hoc networking.
